PEARSON (REID), Susette Ann (nee Burgoyne)
December 5, 1929 - June 30, 2019
Susette passed away peacefully on Sunday June 30th. Predeceased by her parents Henry Burgoyne and Harriet Burgoyne, her brother William Burgoyne, her sister Mary Burgoyne, her first husband Joseph Reid, her second husband John H.A. Pearson, her Aunt May Cameron and her nephew Henry Burgoyne. Survived by her four children David Reid (Heidi), Mary Reid (children Matthew and Kate), Patricia Reid (children Janet and Maggie) and William Reid (Jane and children Simon and Leah), John Pearson's three children Mary, Heather and John (Beth) and their families, her nieces Harriet Lehnen and Janet Partridge and their families and by numerous friends and extended family.
Sues was generous and kind, while also being determined and hard working. She was unassuming and would often help out anonymously without looking for recognition.
Family and friends were important to Sues. She was a devoted mother to her four children from her first marriage to Joe Reid. During her second marriage to Jack Pearson she embraced the joys and challenges of a modern extended family with love, kindness and good humour.
Sues also managed to maintain connection with friends near and far. She kept in touch with old university friends and would often welcome their children into her home when they attended Queen's University.
In addition to her professional roles in the health field Sues was a supporter of many worthy causes. She served as President of the Sunnyside Children's Centre and spent many years working for and supporting the Andy Fund of Kingston.
Sues touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at THE CATARAQUI GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB, on Wednesday, August 21 between the hours of 5;00 and 7:30 pm with Words of Remembrance at 6:00 pm.
Donations in Susette's memory may be made to the The Andy Fund of Kingston Endowment Fund (through the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area) or to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
