Peter was particularly fond of his appointment at ALCAN OSWEGO NY .During his tenure he coordinated sheet ingots issues between ALCAN CANADIAN SMELTERS AND ALCAN ROLLED PRODUCTS . He would get to travel frequently between Alcan Montreal and Oswego . Way before the advent of smart phones, he would entertain radio contact with truckers along the 401 and US 81 route thus staying abreast of road and border conditions .
By acquiring US citizenship he facilitated frequent border crossing .
Before OSWEGO , Peter worked for ALCAN in ARVIDA QC, ROGERSTONE UK and Montreal . In the ARVIDA years , he acted as chief metallurgist in a period of time when ARVIDA was the largest aluminium smelter in the world .In that position , he played a key role in hiring and developing a whole generation of metallurgists in ALCAN .He was highly respected for his expertise, his fairness and accessibility and deservedly earned a solid reputation both inside and outside ALCAN .
