Obituary of Monique Marie Whitbread

Whitbread, Monique Marie-Berthea (nee Duhamel)

In the arms of an angel, peacefully, at Kingston General Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the age of 83, Monique, adored wife of Aart vanZevenbergen.

Cherished mother of Carole (Doug) Jeffries of Kingston; Christine Cunningham of Queensville; Richard (Judy) of Ottawa; cherished stepmother of Richard (Anita) vanZevenbergen of Kingston and Dennis (Mishelle) vanZevenbergen of Port Perry and cherished grandmother to Sean, Kelsey, Michael, Connor, Travis, Tessa, Coen, Ryker, Tager and Daniel.

Predeceased by her first husband Edmund Whitbread; her parents Raymond and Pearl; her brothers Normand, Leopold, Bertrand, Jacques, Gerald and her sister Doris.  She will be sadly missed by her sisters Laurence Papin, Huguette with her husband Marcel Chausse, and Raymonde Duhamel. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, along with extended family in the Netherlands, and missed by many dear friends who enjoyed her quick laughter.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses who eased her passing.

A celebration of Monique’s life will be held at a later date.  As expressions of sympathy, for those who wish, donations to The Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.ca/ontario) will be thoughtfully appreciated by the family.
