I was greatly honoured to know Richard through the satellite dialysis clinic in Picton, ON. Richard was a gentle, kind, caring and intelligent gentleman. He made an indelible impression on me and many others.

Dear Heather, Meredith, Brent and family. We were so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. As you all know, Rick was an important part of our early years at Camp Hollyburn. The stories and legend will live on. Just the other day as I refinished and hung my father's old paddle up, I was recalling the infamous canoe race pitting the dynamic duo of Rick and my Dad in a small canoe, against a freighter of ten paddlers...me a little 12 year old perched in the bow. Of course Rick and T.Y. had carefully calculated that in a short sprint, they would jump ahead of the big canoe and finish before being overtaken. It was classic gamesmanship!! Our family shares your sorrow but at the same time celebrates many great memories of Rick. Sincerely, Ted and Darlene Yard

Dear Heather and family, We are sad that we are unable to attend Rick's memorial service. We knew him through our long time friend Ann Briggs. He was a stalwart brother to her in her time of need. He was always there to support her and her family through some challenging times. We knew you and Rick as friendly, welcoming people who opened your home to us for a visit a few years ago.
