Obituary of Robert Alexander Boyd

BOYD, Robert Alexander-
(1948 - 2018)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob on October 23, 2018 at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.  Bob was a true warrior who fought courageously during his two-year battle with cancer.  Bob was a devoted, loving husband and best friend to his wife Karen (nee Burnside) and a proud and loving father to his two children, Kelly of Dawson Creek, B.C. and Rob (Krista) of Saugeen Shores, Lake Huron.  His parents Robert and Queenie Boyd predeceased him.  He will be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law Lori Deodato (Ted) and Tracey Smalls (Edward).  His nephews Jacob Deodato (Chelsea) and Zachary Deodato (Brittany) along with their children, his great nieces and great nephew, will all miss their Uncle Bob.  Bob served for five years in the Royal Canadian Navy before joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1973.  Bob had a passion for fishing and boating, which he enjoyed, at his summer home on Hay Bay.  Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Thursday, November 1st from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 2nd from 1:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.  In lieu of flowers donations to UHKF (Cancer Centre of S.E. Ontario at KGH) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
