Obituary of C. Kevin Kelly
KELLY: C. Kevin
January 3, 1941 - September 23, 2018
On a sunny September afternoon, after a life that was lived extraordinarily well, Kevin Kelly passed away at 77 years old, surrounded by love and light. Although this loss is immeasurable, we are comforted by the knowledge that he is now at peace after the hard and bitter work of fighting long-term illness. While his academic and professional accomplishments are impressive, they pale in comparison to the love, loyalty and pride that he had for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 47 years, Jane. His children Heather (Doug) and Sean (Lesley) will miss him dearly; he was a fun and loving grandfather to Rachel, Matthew, Leah, Olivia and Caleb. He is survived by his brother and sister, Michael and Ann and is predeceased by siblings Brian, Pat, Tim and Emmett. He also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends to mourn his passing. Kevin was generous and a leader in the community, actively supporting several charities. He is a Past-President of the K.C.A. and sat on the Board of Directors of the C.C.A. We would like to thank all those who lent their support and compassion through the duration of Kevin's illness, in particular Wendy at the Heart Failure Clinic, the staff at the Waterford Retirement Community and the nursing and medical staff on Connell 10 at KGH. A special thank you to Kevin and Jane's wide circle of friends, whose help, humour and kindness made all the difference. Friends will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, ON, on Monday, October 1, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 392 Palace Road, Kingston, ON, on Tuesday, October 2 at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal with Prayers at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to St. Vincent de Paul.
