Obituary of Mary-Ann Gayle Harpell

HARPELL, Dr. Mary-Ann Gayle - Passed away peacefully in Florence, South Carolina on August 11, 2018 in her 51st year, Mary went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, surrounded by loved ones. Founder of the Palmetto Physical Therapy and Wellness Center, Mary was a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, Physical Therapist and Applied Kinesiologist. Throughout her career Mary engaged in continuous learning both for the love of knowledge and as a means to help her patients to whom she was devoted. In addition to her work, Mary went on many mission trips to share her unique skill set and faith with those living in impoverished countries. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on October 11, 1966, Mary developed an unfailing faith in God at an early age that sustained her throughout her life and her lengthy battle with cancer. Mary had an adventurous spirit of travel that led her to Florence, SC, where she established the clinic and developed deep friendships with people that she considered her Florence family. Mary led a rich life that was devoted to God and touched many people. Mary was the beloved daughter of Gayle Harpell and the late William Harpell. Loving sister of Bill Harpell (Jocelyn), Greg Harpell (Susan), Shawn Harpell (Lori), Donna Howlett (Barry), and Laura Harpell. Cherished Aunt of Ryan Harpell, Jacob and Jordyn Harpell, Melissa, Jesse, Casey and Alisa Howlett, and Nathan Millichamp. Best friend of Dr. Anthony Alexander. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 10:00 - 10:50 am followed by a service in the chapel at 11:00 am. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Calvary Bible Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
