Unexpectedly at his residence at Conservatory Pond, on Friday, August 31, 2018, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Gilmour) for 67 years. Dear father of David (Debbie) Ovens, Lorna (Tom) Thorne and John (Judy) Ovens. Loving grandfather of Devon (Meaghen) Thorne, Lisa Ovens, Sarah (Mark) Stoute, Andrew (Shannon) Thorne and Alex Thorne. Survived by his brother Jim Ovens (Joyce). Predeceased by sister Doreen Best. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, on Tuesday, September 11 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:50 am, and during a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre following the service. Private family interment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Shriners Children Hospital in Mr. Ovens' memory.
