On Thursday, July 19, 2018, in his 77th year, Merritt passed away suddenly at his beloved cottage at Buck Lake, ON. Predeceased by parents, Fred and Charlotte Decker, brother Horace Decker and nephew, Tyler.

Brother of Allan (Judy) and Ralph (Cheryl) Decker, all of Kingston and cousin, Doan Sterling (Harry), of London, ON. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; John, Karen, Deborah, Robert, Greg, Stephen, Kelly and Lora Jane Decker, as well as his step-daughters, Allison and Yvonne Montreil, Louise Piazza, Caroline Gaynor and Naomie Black.

Visitation will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Following the service, there will be a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. Inurnment will take place at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice, in memory of Merritt.
