KELLERMANN, Susanne Maria
Surrounded by her three children, sister and husband, the sounds of Leonard Cohen and the voices of her granddaughters playing outside her window filling her room, our extraordinary mother, ama, wife, daughter and friend Susanne Maria Kellermann left our world ushering in a thunderstorm the afternoon of June 13 2018. She was 60.
Born in Vancouver, eldest of four girls, Susi was a flower child just a little too late. A young mother who went on to finish her undergraduate degree and become well respected in the field of corrections. She believed in the power of change and was a catalyst for many to become their best selves.
Susi treated life like a box of chocolates. Quite literally, chocolate with hazelnuts were her favourite. She was interested in almost everything and everyone, her nose was usually in a book, listening to music, playing solitaire or doing a crossword, and travelling any chance she got. Susi had a tendency to wander, but as with one of her favourite sayings; Not all those who wander are lost.
Wonderful memories will remain in the hearts of her parents Elisabeth and Walter Kellermann, her sisters Angela, Gabriella, and late sister Monica, her husband Scott, daughters Nikki and Kristin, her son Justin, grandchildren Ayla and Delphine, and so many of the wonderful friends she came to call family.
We are all grateful for the tremendous support Susi and the family received from Dr. Francis, and Dr. Martin from the gynaecological cancer department at the Kingston General Hospital, Dr. Chang, Dr. Jonker, and Dr. Sinclair from the Ottawa Hospitals, and the entire palliative care department at KGH and within the Kingston community. Thank you all for allowing Susi to spend her last days with her family at home.

A wake will be held at James Reid Funeral Home, (1900 John Counter Blvd) from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm, on Monday, 18th of June 2018. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, 19th of June 2018, at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church (3977 Sydenham Road at Railton Road) in Sydenham. A reception will follow.
