January 25, 1951 – May 19, 2018
George Graves lived an adventurous, playful, generous life. He was a darling, doting father and an irrepressibly indulging grandfather. George was a tender-hearted man, always looking for the one person in the room who needed him. His greatest joys were his beautiful wife, Sue, the cottage they built, the wonders of nature, and taking care of his friends and big family. Always the life of the party, George will be missed by his many dear friends in Jamaica. Having carried on the work of the “Graves Brothers” on Engineer St., George leaves behind a thriving international manufacturing operation. A challenging few years of health problems took their toll and George has found the peaceful rest his heart deserves. We are so grateful for our life with this truly sweet man. Survived by his beloved wife Sue, his children, Cathy (Cory), Laurie (Andrew), and Peter (Danuta), his grandchildren Tia, Logan, Adam, Eli, and Yvonne, his brothers and sisters, Susan (David), Debbie (Orrie), Lynne (Jamie), and Art (Grace), and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate George’s life will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. George’s family will receive friends at a reception following the celebration in the James Reid Celebration and Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to Christian Horizons.
