Obituary of Alison Yvonnie Batchelor

Alison Yvonnie Batchelor died peacefully at her home in Waterloo, Ontario on May 8th, 2018. Alison was born on May 27th, 1936 in the St. Anne Parish of Jamaica, West Indies. She completed her nursing certification at the Essex County Hospital, London, England in 1959. Her nursing and midwife careers spanned over 4 decades across 2 continents and 4 countries. She enjoyed painting and traveling, but her primary focus in life was her family. Alison is preceded in death by her husband Barry and survived by her sons Roger (Irina) and Wayne (Zaneta), her daughter Nicola, 9 grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends. A memorial service, in celebration of Alison's life, will be held at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, Ontario on Sunday, May 13th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the James Reid Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Cancer Center of Southeastern Ontario or the Afro-Caribe Community Foundation of Kingston, Ontario.
