Wray, Joan Catherine (nee Murray)
June 24, 1937 - April 24, 2018
Joan passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert John Wray (December 8, 2011), her parents, Elwood and Josephine Murray, and her brother Kenneth Murray. Joan is survived by her sister, RoseMarie Murray, her brother John (Patricia) Murray, and nieces and nephews Michelle (David) McParlan, Ryan (Marcie) Murray, Shannon (Jeff) Davenport, great nieces and nephews, Ainsley McParlan, Adele McParlan, Cameron McParlan, Adelyn and Anna Murray, and William and Evelyn Davenport. Joan would also like to extend her gratitude to friends and relatives, who were so thoughtful to be in touch during her illness. Joan's family would like to thank Dr. Paul Gallupe, and his Nurse Practitioner Crystal, for their continuous care and compassion. We would also like to thank St. Elizabeth nursing care, Father Sebastian Amato for his prayers, pastoral visits and communion. Visitation will be held at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Wednesday, May 2 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 392 Palace Rd. at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal and Prayers at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
