I did not know you Kyle but I wish I did. Your grandparents, Joan and Bryn, were great friends of my parents, Kaye and Ray Thompson. Joan and Bryn rented a basement apartment from my folks at 223 Mack Street not long after they emigrated to Canada in the early 50's --- or very late 40's. And they worked at DuPont --- "the Nylon Plant". I remember going with "Uncle Bryn" in his truck -- a Purina truck? -- i was maybe 5 or 6 -- but he took me out
to watch the big "diggers" -- building the 401.
We moved to Ottawa in the early 50's and Joan and Bryn visited us there. Somewhere there is a picture of me "baby-sitting" your dad, Ian. The folks had gone out and when they came home they snapped a picture of "baby Ian" stretched out, lying on top of me, stretched out in a chair.
My mum, Kaye, kept in touch with Joan and Bryn and visited their "camp" north of Kingston (Sharbott Lake??) several times.
I can recall being there only once -- probably in the early 70's.
Anyway ---- today I attended the service for you Kyle and I was so impressed by all the deeply heartfelt messages and stories and suppport and love from all!
I knew your Grandpa Bryn (was he Butthead or Bravia! -- I think I know the answer!) and Grandma Joan.
I "baby-lapped sat" your dad.
You are and will be missed by your fiancé, family, friends and "brothers" at Hydro One.
I did not know you Kyle.
I sure wish that I did!
May your memory live forever and may you rest in peace. Ken Thompson
