Obituary of Andrew David Tomio Yamamoto

Andrew (fondly known as Andy) passed away suddenly, at his home in Kingston, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his beloved mother Joan Yamamoto (Sperry), father Henry Yamamoto (Lois) and brother Michael Yamamoto (Heidi). Andy will be fondly remembered by niece Hanna, Auntie Carol and Uncle Doug and Uncle Takehiko. Predeceased by Aunt Mitsuyo.

Andy was a graduate of Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School and then went on to attend Carleton University. He played all-star hockey and baseball in Gananoque; football, rugby and judo in Kingston. As a child, he enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage. Many happy memories and friends were made there.  During quiet moments of reflection, he enjoyed focusing on his art and teaching himself to play the guitar.

Andy’s funeral service will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home Chapel (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 2pm. There will be a reception following the service in the Celebration Centre.
