O'GRADY, Violet E. (Vi)
Peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, at Fairmount Home on Thursday, August 17, 2017, in her 79th year. Vi (nee Davis), beloved wife of 58 years to Patrick O'Grady, who predeceased her in 2016. Loving mother of Holly Allen (Lance), Heather Sampson (predeceased husband, Jim), Daryl O'Grady and Mark O'Grady (Diana). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Dustin, Dani (Alex), Brittany (Andrew), Tyler, Devin, Erin and Sarah. Vi was predeceased by her parents Reuben and Gladys. Survived by siblings Gaile, Wanda (David), Bruce, Darlene, Dale (Wally) and Warren. Remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Vi was an active member of the Queen Street United Church and the Girl Guides of Canada. Vi's family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Fairmount Home for the care that they provided through the years. Following cremation at James Reid Crematorium, Vi's family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Thursday, August 24, from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm. A memorial service will be held, celebrating Vi's life, in the Chapel of the funeral home, on Friday, August 25, at 11:00am. Reverend Stephen Ambury officiating. For those who wish, donations in Vi's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Kingston or U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario).
