Obituary of Ella Ruth Darling

DARLING, Ella "Ruth"

1923 - 2020

Beloved wife of the late Eldon Niram Darling for 72 years, Ruth died at home on October 5. Dear mother of Myrna Darling (Wayne Gordon) and Brian Darling (Kathleen Douglas.) Predeceased by sisters in law Doris (George Revell), Phyllis (Fred Mutton), Zella (Orville Silver) and foster brother, Jack Amey. Survived by loving sister in law, Muriel (the late Kenneth Walls.) Beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews. Mother and grandma "of the heart" to many who brought joy to her life.

Ruth, daughter of the late Mathew Sears and Pearl Guthrie, was born and grew up in Wilmer. She worked at Hanson and Edgar Limited Printers in Kingston until her marriage at which time she moved to the Darling farm in Latimer. In 2006, Ruth and Eldon took up residence on the Bear Creek Rd., near Sunbury. Ruth was gracious, welcoming and nonjudgmental, a wonderful cook, a gardener and a lover of nature. She lived life with gratitude and humour, appreciating every blessing, great or small.

Ruth's family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston on Monday, September 13 between the hours of 9:30 am and 10:45 am.  A private service will be held in the Chapel with Rev. Heather McLurg-Murphy and Rev. Emma Pipes officiating.  Inurnment to follow at Sandhill Cemetery.
