Obituary of Dean Lawerence Northey

NORTHEY, Dean L.
1935-2017
After a courageous battle with cancer with his wife by his side, Dean passed away at Providence Care Hospital on Saturday, May 6, 2017.  Dean, loving husband of Llora (Woods) for 58 years.  Dear brother of Howard and his companion Carolyn, Gladys Spicer and her late husband Mack, Murry and his wife Dale and the late Lloyd and his wife Joyce, and brother-in-law of Richard Woods and his wife Diane.  Loving uncle of Steve Woods and his wife Christine and their children Margaret and Jeremy and Mike Woods and his wife Katie and their children Avery and Jaime.  As a result of a keen interest in Blue Grass Music, Dean was responsible for bringing that style of music to the Kingston Area.  Dean’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kington.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00am in the chapel, followed by the interment at Cataraqui Cemetery.  For those who wish, donations in Dean’s memory may be made to the U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of SE ON at KGH) or to St. John’s Presbyterian Church.  Members of the St. Andrew’s Masonic Lodge No. 497 are respectfully invited to attend a service of remembrance at the funeral home, Wednesday at 6:45pm.
