Obituary of Kathleen Nytko
Kathleen Margaret Nytko
February 13, 1947 - March 25, 2017
With her husband, Dennis Guy at her side, Kathleen died peacefully at home.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she was an entrepreneur, world traveler, Neil Diamond fan, plant lover and an avid needle worker, still knitting until almost the last. Kathleen easily cultivated enduring friendships in the workplace at Neilson-Cadbury, Nestle Canada and at her shop, the Kat's Kneedle; in the communities in which she lived - Ballantrae Golf & CC, Loyalist Golf & CC, Tower Point Arizona and on many ocean cruises.
A heartfelt thank you to all who took special care throughout: Dr. McCart and the team of care providers at Mount Sinai Hospital; Surgeon, Dr. MacDonald; Oncologist, Dr. Hammad; Palliative care, Dr. Dudgeon and team; as well as the many nurses and technicians at Kingston General Hospital; Kim Greene at South East CCAC; the nurses of Saint Elizabeth, especially Cynthia Woodcock, Sherri Moffat and Christine Pellerin.
Kathleen will be missed by all who loved her and those she touched with her indomitable and fun-loving spirit.
Kathleen's family will honour and celebrate her memory privately. Cremation has taken place with arrangements by James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests that friends consider a donation to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario at KGH, Saint Elizabeth Foundation or to your local cancer care centre or at home hospice care foundation.
