MASON, Paul Francis
Passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 78 from complications following surgery. He is now reunited with his wife of 39 years, Elaine, who passed away 11 years earlier. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, Stephen and his wife, Brenda, and Christine and her husband, Rob Jewell. Devoted and treasured grandfather of Matthew and Sarah, Devin, Madelyn, and Landon. Paul will be forever missed by his brother, John Mason and his wife, Hillary, and by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sue Mason, Marilyn and Wayne Sudds, and Barbara and John Donaldson. He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Mary Mason, brother Peter, and sisters Mary and Carole.
Paul's humour and adventurous spirit will be fondly remembered by his dear nephews and nieces, his extended family, and by his friends whose lives he touched through the years.
Paul was born November 9, 1938 in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England. After graduating from Cotton College in 1957, Paul began his love for travel. Paul served two years in the Royal Air Force spending a year stationed in Singapore, a highlight of his time in the RAF. Following his service, Paul lived in London, England, and California before settling in Kingston.
The family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, (1900 John Counter Blvd) from 6:30-8:30 pm on Friday, March 24. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will follow at a later date. Paul will be laid to rest beside his wife at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie. The family would like to thank the staff of Kingston General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society or SMILE Kingston (VON Canada) would be greatly appreciated.
