Obituary of Jean Coe
COE, Jean
February 19, 1927 - March 6, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jean Coe, having recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald. Jean leaves behind her children David (Kathryn), Janet, and Joanne (Jamie) and grandchildren Jennifer, Heather (Douglas), Graham, and Liam, as well as a newly arrived great granddaughter, Dorothy Jean. Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, to parents Louisa and Edrick Storey, Mum was the second oldest of seven siblings; survived by brothers David (Carol), Brian (Doreen) and sister Nora (Geoff). Mum married the love of her life, Ronald, and they emigrated from Great Britain to begin their young lives, careers and start a family. Mum loved her home and cherished her family. While she was full of kindness, she also had a penchant for no nonsense straight forward talk, advice and guidance. It was said that she was a true Yorkshire girl. Mum had no intention of dying. That possibility did not fit into her plans! But, sadly, her body failed her ahead of her fierce will. She had a good long life and lived it in the manner that she wished right up until her passing. It was her strong passion for the love of her family that sustained her throughout her 90 years of life. A Memorial Reception will be held in the RECEPTION CENTRE of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, (please enter from the rear parking lot), on Sunday, March 19, 2017, between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Floral tributes are welcomed, or if desired, donations in Mum's memory, may be made to the Kingston Youth Shelter.
