Obituary of Phyllis E. Wilson

WILSON, Phyllis, E. (nee Stinson) 1930-2017 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and dearest friend Phyllis, who passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Rideaucrest Home on Wednesday, March 1. Phyllis is survived by her two loving children; Paula Hogeboom (the late Orrie) and Steve Wilson (Stacy Newcombe). She was predeceased by her parents Joseph Stinson and Emma (nee Asselstine) and by brothers Herschel, Harold, Donald, Arnold and sisters Pearl and Thelma. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews and by her many friends in Belleville, including the quilting gals and bowling team. A lifetime employee of Northern Telecom who raised two children on her own, Phyllis loved family, gardening, shopping, and helping others. In accordance with Phyllis' wishes, cremation has taken place. A casual celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 7 from 2:30-4:30pm in the RECEPTION CENTRE of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston (please enter from the rear parking lot doors), with words of remembrance commencing at 3:00pm. A private family burial at Parham Cemetery will take place in the Spring. For those who wish, donations in Phyllis' memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer's' Society of Canada.
