William Lorne Douglas (Doug) Davidson

Doug passed away peacefully at his residence in Kingston, in the presence of family shortly after his 92nd birthday.
Born in Toronto, son of Helen (nee Scott) and Lorne. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Anna (nee Lockerby), his sister Ruth Plewes (Tom) and his great granddaughter Mia. Survived by his children John (Lydia), Linden (Suzanne) and Lorna Jean. Proud grandfather of Lauren (Wayland), Adrienne (Jordan), Graeme and Jennifer Davidson; Connor and Adam Davidson; Anna Jane and Matthew Edmonds. Great grandfather to Hermione and Elisa. Fondly remembered by Mark Edmonds, Hana and Daniel Fehrenbach, Sam Hughson, Michael and David Bowkett, and nephews Doug, Don (Joanne) and Scott (Tawnye) Plewes.
Doug was a graduate of Carleton University (Public Administration) and the University of Toronto (History) where he was an avid sportsman excelling in varsity football and hockey. He served his country, initially with the National Research Council followed by a distinguished career as an Officer with the Royal Canadian Navy. He later served his community in the Office of the Clerk for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa Carleton until his retirement in 1990.
Arrangements entrusted to JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, inurnment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery, The National Cemetery of Canada, Ottawa at a later date.
Special thanks to the staff and community at the Waterford Retirement Residence who provided autonomy, friendship and dignity in Doug's later years.
