Obituary of Simon Berthiaume

Berthiaume , Simon Daniel - April 19th, 1986 - February 5th, 2017 Simon, a much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. Loving, adored and kind, Simon left us suddenly and tragically on Sunday February 5th 2017. Throughout his life, Simon loved learning about everything. One of his favourite topics was astronomy and in particular the writings of Stephen Hawking. He was a well-equipped amateur astronomer who was always looking forward to understanding the universe. Early on he became fascinated with aircraft and air shows and he was a proud owner of a radio controlled jet powered F-18 model aircraft. When it came to computer technology, Simon was second to none and he selected this as vocation. He loved his job as a tech and he was the one who would always happily lend you a hand to solve your computer headaches. He loved being "Uncle Simon" to Jack. He was a natural at playing and had a wonderful imagination that kept Jack entertained for hours. Simon is mourned by his parents Marie and Daniel, his step-mother Lisa, his sister Erica, half siblings Gina and Alex, his nephew Jack, his grandmother Lucie, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of Simon’s life will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Saturday, February 11th starting at 1:00pm in the chapel and then continuing in the Reception Centre until 4:00pm. Donations in Simon's memory can be made to CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association).
