Obituary of John Arthur Freeman

FREEMAN, John Arthur Peacefully, at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by the love of family, on Saturday, January 21, 2017, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 57 years to Delores Ann (nee Gardner) of Battersea. Loving father of Janet Voith (Mike), Nancy Banks (Dale) and Sandra Hogan (Wayne). Predeceased by son John Alexander Freeman, in infancy. Affectionately known as "Uppie" to his grandchildren, Adam (Brandy), Brian (Emily), Craig and Hilary; Emily (Nevan) and Lydia (Tyler); Alexander (Chelsea), Grant (Haneia), Evan and Morgan; and great grandchildren Everly, Jack and Oakley. Survived by brother Mac Freeman and sister Virginia Freeman. Predeceased by siblings Norman, Evelyn, Hugh and Julian. Also remembered by numerous extended family members. John's canine companion "Ralph" will miss him too! Family and friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Wednesday, January 25 between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Thursday, January 26 at 11:00 am, with Reverend Lewis Bryant officiating. All are invited to a reception in the Reception Centre at the conclusion of the service which will be followed by the interment at Sandhill Cemetery in Battersea. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Battersea Pentecostal Church or, to Sheba's Haven Dog Rescue in memory of John.
