Obituary of Keitha Myrtle Showers

SHOWERS, Keitha Myrtle (nee Lake) Peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, January 13, 2017, in her 89th year. Keitha was predeceased by the love of her life of 61 years, Nick Showers (2012). Cherished mother of Jane McLean, Mary Showers (Larry Birch) and James Showers (Lorrie). Loving grandmother of Jason and Jeffrey McLean, Catherine Birch (Chris Joyce) and Jennifer Birch (Mike Colledge), and great grandmother of Liam and Mila Joyce, and Ella and Tom Colledge. Keitha is survived by her loving sister Hilda Lake and was predeceased by her parents, James and Sadie Lake, and her brother William (Bill) Lake. "Aunt Kit" is also survived by her niece and nephews, Cindy Bos and Michael and David Lake. In keeping with Keitha's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service was held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the doctors and staff at KGH in the Emergency Dept. and on Davies 4, for the compassionate care and support that Keitha and her family received. Donations may be made in Keitha's memory to the Ontario Lung Association.
