Obituary of Virginia Rosemary Ellerbeck
ELLERBECK, Virginia Rosemary (nee Dunphy) - January 10, 1931 - January 17, 2017. Passed peacefully in her 87th year while a resident of Fairmount Home. Predeceased by her husband, Jim Ellerbeck (2012), daughter Janice Ellerbeck (2016), parents Noel and Isabella (Marshall) and siblings Alma (Norm) Tivy, Joe (Doris) Dunphy, Howard (Betty) Dunphy, Norman (Joyce) Dunphy, Wilfred Dunphy, Betty Dunphy, and Gloria (John) Woogh. Cherished mother of Sherry Shorrock (late Ian), Christina, Christopher, Stephen, Theresa Appleton (Rick), Heather Ellerbeck-Smith (Greg) and Tracey. Fondly remembered by son-in-law Rick Smith (late Janice Ellerbeck). Admired and adored nana of her grandchildren Stephanie Ellerbeck, Laura Wilcock (Chris), Jenny Perkin (late Ryan) Brittany Smith-Ellerbeck (Daniel Lebrun) Melissa Shorrock (Zack Price), Jamie Appleton, Kyle Shorrock (Brittany Robertson), Curtis Appleton and Conner Smith and great grandchildren Grayce, Rhett and Emmerson Wilcock. Virginia is survived by sister-in-law Jean (late Orval) Dunphy, brother-in-law Neil (late Nadine) Plumpton and Ken (late Madeline) Stone. Dearly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thank you to Rev. Lewis Bryant and all the staff of Fairmount Home who played a role in her care. Family and friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in ST. JOHN THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (88 Patrick St.) on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery will be followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. As expressions of sympathy donations in Virginia's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer Society.
