Obituary of Shirley Adele Thompson

Thompson, Shirley Adele Peacefully on January 3, 2017 in her 87th year at Fairmount Home. Wife of the late Blake Thompson. Loving mother to Wayne (Sue), and Hilda Thompson (Gavin Hutchison). She will be missed by grandchildren Erin, Adam and Sarah and her 2 great-grandchildren Oliver and Grayson. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Nettie Stoness, sisters Helen, Jean and Hilda, brothers Jim, Keith and Neil, brothers-in-law Kinnear Thompson, Jim Thompson, sisters-in-law Jean and Jessie Stoness and Emily Shannon. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Marjorie Thompson. Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews as well as their families. The family is grateful to everyone who cared for Adele at her home, Fairfield Manor East and to Hospice Kingston. Special thanks for the outstanding and compassionate care provided by Fairmount Home. Family and friends will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. The inurnment will take place Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Sandhill Cemetery, followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel of James Reid Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Inverary United Church or Hospice Kingston would be appreciated by the family.
