Obituary of Rose Margaret Rutherford

Rutherford, Rose Margaret (nee Artuso) - passed away on December 23rd, 2016 at the age of 78, surrounded by her family. Beloved Mother of Monty Rutherford, Julie (Bruce Atkinson), Shawn Rutherford, Heather (Joel Braunstein), and Leslie (Kevin Ouderkirk), and lovingly remembered by their father Charles Rutherford who took care of Rose until the end. Cherished Grandmother of Sean, Mitch, Brandon, Taylor, Alexandra, Erica, Heather, Kelly, and Thomas. Cherished Great-Grandmother of Brayden. Predeceased by her parents, Fortunato Artuso and Angelina Celestino. Loving sister of the late Lawrence, Dominic (Mary), Frank (the late Olive), the late Domenica-"Julie" (the late George), the late Salvatore (Helene), the late Joseph, and Anthony -"Archie". Visitation will be held at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, ON from 7:00- 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary's Cathedral, 279 Johnson St., Kingston, ON at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 29th, 2016. Rite of committal with prayers will be held at Cote des Neiges Cemetery (Notre Dame), Montreal, Quebec at 1 pm on December 30th, 2016. Rose was a loving and kind caregiver for many years to her parents and siblings. Rose was an unselfish, thoughtful, and spiritual person, always thinking of others and putting them before herself. Rose will be deeply and sadly missed by her family.
