Obituary of Violet Emily Young

Young, Brigadier Violet (nee Emberson) Serving the Lord faithfully with the Salvation Army, since 1942 Entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord, Saturday, December 10, 2016. Violet Young, age 96, beloved wife of the late Brigadier Gerald Young of Kingston. Dear mother of Graham Young and his wife Louann of South Africa, Marilyn Young and her partner Brooks Barton of Toronto, David Young and his wife Ingrid of Kingston, Coleen Young of Kingston, Paul Young of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Jonah; Jason and Matthew; and Ryan. She will also be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends. Violet is rejoicing in Heaven with Gerald, her infant children Miriam and David Albert, parents Albert Emberson and Emily (nee Sanders) and siblings Lily and George. Resting at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration service will be held at the Kingston Citadel of the Salvation Army, 816 Centennial Dr. Kingston on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army World Services or Hands of Joy (for the advancement of African Children), in Violet Young's memory.
