Obituary of William Geoffrey Hughes

HUGHES, William Geoffrey “Bill” August 4, 1938 – November 30, 2016 Peacefully passed away at home on the farm, with family by his side. Bill will be forever missed by his wife of 56 years, Mary (nee Earl), his children Beth Benton (Chris), Jack (Renee Bergeron) and Gary, and his grandchildren James , Emily, Patrick and Charlotte. Bill’s family is truly grateful for all the support that he and his family received during his illness. Bill had many hobbies and passions in his life: he enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, hunting and scuba diving and loved sharing these with his family and friends. In keeping with Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 1-3 and 5-7 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. For those who wish, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Queen’s Palliative Care or to UHKF (Cancer Centre of SE Ontario).
