Robert Alfred Blackwell, 88, of Kingston, Ontario, passed away, Monday, November 14, 2016 at Kingston General Hospital. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 26th at Crossroads United Church 690 Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd. Kingston, ON K7M 1A2. Bob (Bobbi to his grandkids) married Naomi 50+years ago. First living in Australia, then Belleville and most recently Kingston, ON. Bob taught elementary school in Hastings County at Bayside public, North Trenton and Parkdale. He enjoyed teaching, but his real calling was retirement and has been happily retired for 30+ years. He was an avid painter/carver in his early retirement. He spent time learning guitar, harmonica and singing in his church choir at Centennial Free Methodist Church where he was a member for 40+years. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife Naomi (nee Couch) three sons, John (Sharon), Andrew (Adriane) and Tim (Amy). Seven grandchildren, Geoffrey, Faith, Dominic, Anna, Dylan, Eliot and Lily. Special thanks to the Oncology department at KGH for their care during Bob’s final year. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations may be made to Kingston General Hospital or Centennial Free Methodist Church, Belleville.
