Obituary of Ramona Patience Redmond

REDMOND, Ramona Patience December 25, 1928-November 15, 2016 Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital following a prolonged illness, with her beloved husband and best friend of 65 years, Carl, at her side. Dear mother of Noel Redmond (Nancy) of Inverary and Lisa Colby (Sean) of Kanata, and predeceased by Paul, in infancy. Affectionately known as "Grandma" to Derek (Tiffany), Greg (Nadia), and Kerri Redmond; Tye and Jessie Colby. Proud great-grandmother to Colton and Skyler. Ramona is predeceased by her sisters Olive Sismey, Helen Murphy and brothers Karl, Mervin, Gyles, Murray, Harold (Jr) and Jon. Also fondly remembered by sister-in-law Bessie Tye, numerous nieces, nephews and their families, as well as her spiritual family in the Anglican community. A Funeral Service in celebration of the life of Ramona will be held at THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE (King Street at Johnson Street) on Friday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. The Very Reverend Donald Davidson and Reverend Canon Dr. Douglas Fox presiding. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service, from 12:30 pm until 1:50 pm, and during a light luncheon following the service. Ramona's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens during a private family gathering. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. George's Cathedral or University Hospitals Kingston Foundation in Mrs. Redmond's memory.
