RICHARD, Flora Elisa
Beloved wife, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Flora (Flo) Elisa Richard (nee Wildi), age 79, of Kingston, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 after an extended illness. Flo was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on March 7, 1937 and was married to Eugene Richard on December 1, 1956. They were together for 59 years after meeting in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where she worked as an administrative assistant. Flo was passionately involved in music for most of her life, graduating from The Royal Conservatory of Music, and performed professionally with her husband throughout their marriage. Flo had unwavering faith in God as a member of the Roman Catholic Church, which gave her strength and comfort throughout her life and this ordeal.
Flo is survived by husband Eugene Richard, sons John (JR) Richard (wife Shari), and Steven (JD) Richard (wife Josie), grandchildren Tom, Natasha, Melissa, Peter, Paula, Tamara and Ricky, and great grandchildren Chloe and Noah along with her brothers Jack Wildi and Edwin Wildi, sisters-in-law Eunice and Dorothy and other family and friends. Flo is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Ida Wildi, her brother John Wildi and brother-in law Peter Richard. The family of Flo wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard in Kingston on Tuesday, November 1, between the hours and 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1111 Taylor-Kid Boulevard in Kingston on Wednesday, November 2 at 2:00 pm., with Father Leo Byrne celebrating. Rite of Committal with prayers will follow at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 718 Division Street in Kingston. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the exemplary care provided to Flo, memorial donations may be made to UHKF (St. Mary's of the Lake Palliative Care).
