Obituary of Laura Doreen Cumming
Cumming, Laura Doreen (nee Connolly)
Today (February 4, 2021) we lovingly said goodbye to our Mom, Nan and Great-Nan. Laura died peacefully with her family by her side (in-person and virtually) in the same way she lived life – on her own terms. Laura was in her 100th year and had been planning for her 100th Birthday Party – who would come, what we would serve, will I get a letter from the Queen? Laura was met at the pearly gates by her husband Capt. Douglas H. Cumming, the love of her life, whom she has waited 49 years to be reunited. Also there to greet her were her son Douglas Cumming and son-in-law John Boyle; her parents (William and Annie Connolly); and her 9 siblings (with Joan, Carol and Donna declaring it to be Happy Hour!).
Laura will be dearly missed by her daughter Linda Boyle (the late John); her grandchildren for whom she was a second mother Lynette Skeggs (Murray); Gayle McKinlay (Rob); Lori LoFaso (John) and Doug Jr. She is fondly remembered by her great grandchildren Rebecca, Joey, Nathan and Kayla who will forever remember her renditions of “the Grand Ole Duke of York”.
Laura was proud to be a lifetime member of The Eastern Star - Frontenac Chapter 90. A big thank you to the fabulous staff at Helen Henderson Lodge and the fantastic caregivers at Paramed for all your care and support. Due to COVID a private family graveside service will be held.
