Ms. Gosling-Duff was a wonderful teacher. I took Latin with her for two years and went on a school trip to Spain with her. I will never forget her zest for life!

Mrs. Gosling-Duff was my English teacher at FSS in Grade 10 and 12. She was truly one of a kind. She had a real joie de vivre, with a very loud voice and a hearty, infectious laugh. She always wore color-coordinated outfits, shoes, and purses with big chunky jewelry and flowery perfume. She always remembered my name whenever I ran into her in the community after graduation, even 30 years later! And she would ask me how other students from our cohort were doing, mentioning them each by name. She was a great teacher who taught me Classical Literature; she made it so much fun! We studied texts that most students don't encounter until university. She also helped organize yearly school trips to the Quebec Winter Carnival and school trips to Europe that I attended. She also taught me how to drive a car in Driver's Ed. She had a positive impact on many students and will be remembered fondly by them. Condolences to her family.

Denise and I were so sorry to hear that Ruth had passed away. I had Ruth as my Grade 11 English teacher and she was a larger than life presence in the classroom. In later years , we taught with Ruth at Frontenac Secondary School and I knew Ruth when she taught at QECVI. Ruth was always happy and outgoing and she loved life and her husband Robert. I only have fond memories of Ruth and I am sure that many other students and colleagues will remember her fondly. Ron & Denise Sharp

Ruth was a colleague of mine for many years at Frontenac Secondary School. She was always a positive, supportive lady who enjoyed her students immensely. I was often astounded by her incredible memory for names and fondly remember her telling me stories of meeting former students in public. I will miss her, especially her infectious laugh. May she Rest In Peace.

An outstanding teacher who taught me how to drive and Latin. She was dynamic and full of personality. When Ms. Gosling-Duff was in a room the room was full even if there were only two people in the room. Years after I graduated from Frontenac she always remembered my name and she always had a big smile when we met. Her personality and her legendary perfume always overwhelmed me in the best of ways. I consider it an honour to be taught by her. Years later when I returned to Frontenac to coach basketball she was always supportive and encouraging. She gave great hugs and her smile lite up any room. She enriched the lives of her students and left the world a better place than she found it. RIP A. Daniel Skepple, jr Edmonton, AB
