Peter passed away suddenly late in the evening of 23 August, 2020 at The Ottawa General Hospital following brief but fierce battle with cancer.
Peter is predeceased by his father, Peter and survived by his mother Lil and brother Douglas (Michelle)
Peter was a graduate of the University of Waterloo, leading to a career in computer programming and software development in the Ottawa area. Passionate about quality of life in the area, he was always involved in municipal politics, pushing issues close to his heart. Additionally, he enjoyed a great pastime of cycling, spending many hours, days and even weeks aboard his bicycle both in the local area and on longer range cycling trips.
A celebration of Peter’s life will take place in Ottawa 12 September at 2:00. Due to COVID restrictions for social distancing and limited (though still generous) room capacity, friends wishing to attend are requested to arrange a seat(s) through mcnichol.estate@gmail.com. The service will be live streamed to those unable to attend in person. An invitation link will be sent from mcnichol.estate@gmail.com to those who prefer to attend virtually.
