Mary Tobin

Obituary of Mary Tobin

TOBIN, Mary (nee Walsh)
Mary died peacefully at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, August 13, 2020. She is survived by Kevin, her loving husband of 59 years. Mother of Linda (Scott), Lois (Rick), and Peter (Krystalle) but a second mother to so many. She will be missed by the loves of her life; her grandchildren, Melanie, Claire, Alison, Kevin, Kate, and Andrew.
Mary was the only Walsh sister of her deceased older brothers, George (Connie), Kenny (Suzanne and Pat), John (Alison), and her younger brothers Billy (Elaine) and Dennis (Irene) who will miss their daily calls.

Kevin's sister Sharon Cazemiro (Bob) has been like a sister to her. Mary was a source of great conversation and laughter to her nieces and nephews, Debbie, Karen, Pammy (Tony), Barbara, Billy, Leslie, Jody (John), and Michael (Dominique).

Mary leaves behind many lifelong friends from their years in Montreal, most notably her girls club and Carole and Brian Dowd. Mary welcomed everyone into her home and had the ability to forge deep and lasting friendships at every stage in her life. Mary will be remembered for her incredible love of family and friends, quick wit, strong left-leaning political views, and her Saturday night spaghetti.

We would like to thank the staff at KGH (Davies 4, Connell 3) for the wonderful care, especially Dr. Heather Johnson and Dr. Luke Wu for their compassion. We would particularly like to recognize Dr. Baxter, Dr. Vozoris, and her amazing cardiologist, Dr. Anthony Sanfillipo.

Funeral arrangements for Mary are in the care of JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME. The family will gather privately for a Mass of Christian Burial at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Wednesday, August 19th.  A Celebration of Life for family and friends will follow from 1:30 - 3:30 pm at 694 Lakeside Dr., Consecon, Ontario. Respecting the current public health restrictions we ask that you RSVP to Linda at lindatobinn@yahoo.com.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to Covenant House in Toronto or Kingston Interval House in Mary's memory.
