Suddenly at KGH on Sunday August 9th, 2020. Ernest Eugene Sands of Battersea passed in his 75th year.
Born and raised in the house he resided in with his beloved wife Henny (Van Duinen). Ernie was an active man enjoying his time hunting and ice fishing. He continued working his families farm for many years and his passion for it was beyond words.
He was son to the late Eugene and Mary (Burtch). Loving father to Kenneth (Maggie), Eugene (Rachel) and Melissa Sands (Jason). Brother of Connie Kendrick (Bob), Sandra Best (Fred), and the late George Sands (Sharon) and Barry Sands (Patti). Loving grandfather to David, K.C, Riley, Miah, Kaylyn, Holden, Connor, Liam, Jasper and Octavia.
He will be missed by many.
There will be a private graveside service at Sandhill Cemetery on Saturday August 15, 2020 at 2pm. Family and friends are invited to gather for the celebration of life at Ernie's nieces house (Lesley Colby) at 4374 Battersea Rd at 3 pm. Please remember to wear a mask at all time, and social distance 2 metres apart. Contact Tracing will be in affect at the family property for everyone’s safety.
