Obituary of Howard Gerald Arnold

ARNOLD, Howard

January 23, 1933 - June 13, 2020

Howard Gerald Arnold left this life peacefully, and surrounded by loved ones near and far after a brief illness in hospital.

Born to George and Margaret of Sheffield Mills in Nova Scotia.

Howard was a passionate baker, working for over thirty years with Weston Bakeries Limited and often whipping up delicious treats to share with family and friends. Howard was proud of his work and the opportunities it provided him for travel. He deeply loved photography, gardening, cars, travel, and music. His record collection and love of country and bluegrass music was unmatched. He was also a proud father who often spoke about his children and their accomplishments to anyone who would listen.

Howard is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Grant-Morris), son Alan (Margaret Ann), step-daughter Tanya (Ryan), step-daughter Leah (Travis), and daughter Shelby (Josh), as well as his two nephews (Stephen, John) and six wonderful grandchildren (Mitchell, Reese, Grayson, Maximus, Lilija, Luca). He will be remembered fondly by many friends; those who enjoyed his delicious baked goods and tours of his gardens.

Predeceased by parents George and Margaret, brother Arthur (Marlene), sister Marjorie (Joseph) and first wife Sherrill (née Neary).

The family greatly thanks and appreciates the team on KIDD7 at KGH, who over the years have been so supportiveand caring. Cremation has taken place at James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, and encourages you to bake bread in Howard's honor.
