Mountney, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Thom)

1941 - 2023

It is with great sadness the family of Margaret Mountney announces her passing on July 21, 2023, with her beloved husband by her side. Margaret, loving wife of Bruce for 56 years, cherished mother of Andrew (Terra) and Brian (Norah), and treasured grandmother of Julia, Everett and Mia, and step-grandmother of Savannah.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Eva Thom and sister Gwenyth Poulton and is survived by her loving sisters Marian Ellis (late Joel), and Catherine Thom.

Margaret loved being a high school teacher which showed through the children who adored her. She finished a long career with the LDSB and ALCDSB.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, a private family service will take place and a celebration of her life will follow at a later date.

Donations may be made to Rideaucrest Retirement Home or Alzheimer’s Society in her memory.
