In Loving Memory of David (Dave)Wood
April 28, 1946 - July 1, 2023
David (Dave) Wood, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandpa passed away on July 1st, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased and peacefully reunited with his wife Louise Norma Wood, parents Kenneth Walter Wood (father), Orabelle Alma Wood (mother), brothers Norman, Jack, and sister Caroline. Retiree of Celanese Millhaven Fibres, where he was employed for 32 years. He was 77 years old.
Dave (Dad) as he was affectionately known, will be remembered as a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. He leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories for his sons, David Wood (Mary Lynn Morrison) and Chris Wood (Chrissy Wood), as well as his grandchildren, Collins and Cinsley Wood. In addition to his immediate family, Dave is survived by his sister Debbie Lamont, (Jim Lamont), his brothers Duane Wood (Carol Scott) and Carl Wood (Bonnie Wood); as well as multiple nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who he shared close bonds with and who will deeply mourn his loss as well.
Sports held a special place in Dad’s heart. He was a passionate fan throughout his life. Whether it was keeping score at the baseball diamond, playing golf, mastering the pool table, or coaching young hockey players; he embraced the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. His dedication to sports was an inspiration to those around him, and his enthusiasm will be profoundly missed by all.
As we bid farewell to Dave, our father, we celebrate the life he lived and the joy he brought to others. May his legacy serve as a reminder to cherish our loved ones and pursue our passions with unwavering dedication. He will forever remain in our hearts and minds; his memory will be cherished and live on by all who knew him.

The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the James Reid Funeral Home Located at 1900 John Counter Blvd. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 6th from: 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm, and Friday, July 7th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be a service in the James Reid Chapel at noon on Saturday, July 8th with burial to follow at 1:00 pm at the Cataraqui Cemetery. A Reception will follow the proceedings.
