Obituary of Roy Fenton
Roy Fenton
September 19, 1951 - May 30, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Roy: Loving husband of 42 years to Maureen (Jardine); cherished father of Janet (Imre Rozsa) and Nicole (Paul Baillie); and, proud Poppa to Kierra, Rilyn, Xavier, Octavia, and Aislynn.
Predeceased by his parents Harold and Joan Fenton, and sister Janet Fenton, he leaves behind his sisters Ruth Long, Marilyn Hunt (William), and Sandra Redden (Tim Anderson) to cherish his memory.
Roy was born in Kingston and moved around after graduating from St. Lawrence College until he was offered a job at Empire Life in Kingston and returned home with Maureen to raise their family. He enjoyed playing goalie for a local hockey team until his very early diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease left him unable to skate. Model trains were a passion and his basement housed a showcase of trains from every era. Roy loved animals, and his pets included parrots, salt water fish, cats, and dogs. He was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff of Providence Manor for the care and compassion shown to Roy over the last 10 years.
A private family service will be held at James Reid Funeral Home. We welcome you to attend a Celebration of Life at the Cataraqui Conservation Area on June 25th, 2023 from 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm. It was Roy’s dream that a cure for Parkinson’s Disease be found, and as such, charitable remembrances are requested through Parkinson Canada.
