Obituary of Gerald Dyer

Gerald (Gerry) Benjamin Dyer
1929-2023

On April 19, 2023 after a life well lived, Gerald flew away from here into the arms of his angel Margaret (2018) with his family by his side or in his heart.

Born in Port Arthur, Gerald moved to Kingston to study chemical engineering at Queen’s University where he met his wife of 65 years. He built a successful career working for DuPont and retired as Director Research after 41 years with the organization.

Throughout his life Gerald was passionate about education, politics and the environment and volunteered his time on the Kingston School Board, several Queen’s University Committees and aided in the development of the Cataraqui Conservation Area.

Gerald will always be remembered as a great man who in his gentle and kind way made sure his family was loved and supported.

He lived independently and did it his way right up to his final days. And with a grin, when asked what he wanted his obituary to say he replied Bye bye and please keep it short.
