Obituary of Christa Krueger
Christa Krueger July 17, 1936 - April 9, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of beloved wife, mom, grandma and great grandma (GG), Christa Krueger, after a long illness with cancer at the age of 86. Best friend for 78 years and married for 63 years to Ted (Werner) Krueger, cherished mom of Karen Knight (Ron Knight) and Heidi Bennett (Jamie Bennett). Best Grandma ever to Nicole Knight (Nick Allen), Jesse Knight (Christina Knight), Kristin Bennett (Vince Popovich), and Nikolas Bennett (Trisha Roy). Best Great-Grandma (GG as they called her) to Parker and Avery Allen, and our newest addition to our family coming this July (Jesse and Christina) which she fought so hard to stay alive for. She is also remembered by her family in Germany, her brother, Gunter Wasner and sister, Ursula Wasner, cherished Aunt to Beate Wegelin and Sylke Wasner.
Mom was feisty and defiant, and fought until the end in true Christa fashion but now we as a family are finally at peace knowing that mom is with her mother (Oma) and father (Opa) who went missing in action in WWII when she was only 12 years old. We like to think they are all reunited together in heaven along with her precious Toby (our family dog).
A special thank you to all the Palliative Care Team at KGH (Dr. Matthews, Dr. Bagg, Dr. Selbie and Nurse Practitioner Melissa), the CBI Team (nurses Tammy, Fillipa, Collette, Eric, Jason, and Dana), and all the wonderful PSW angels (Jennifer B., Jennifer H., Loretta, Bobbie Jo, Amanda, Leslie, Shelby, Desiree, and Jaspreet). We could not have gone through this journey without all your support. Our heartfelt thanks to Sherry and Charles from Comfort Care and his wife Sipho for coming to the rescue when we needed them most.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 12:00 - 12:50 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home on 1900 John Counter Blvd followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. A private family burial will take place at Cataraqui Cemetery on Monday, April 17, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the UHKF - Cancer Centre or Canadian Cancer Society.
