Obituary of Madge Laverty

Laverty, Madge (nee Dalton) - peacefully at her home in Amherstview, Ontario on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in her 79th year after a lengthy illness. Madge was a multi-talented, generous woman who left a mark on this world in many ways. Starting as a young teacher in her home province of Newfoundland, she had many jobs in her lifetime and later married her loving husband of nineteen years, Bill Laverty. She will be greatly missed by her children with whom she shared a special bond, Doug Hamilton and Kathy Sandhu (Rob). She was a fun grandmother, who adored her grandchildren Arika and Nathan Sandhu. She is survived by her loving siblings Harold Dalton, Clara Johnson, Rachel Johnson, Roberta Dalton, Betty Butt and many nieces and nephews. Donations in Madge’s memory to the ALS Society of Canada or her hometown church - Calvary Memorial United Church in Little Catalina, Newfoundland, would be appreciated by her family.
