It was an honour and a privilege to walk you home - Dad
Daily we showered you with the most love, respect and honour a family could possibly provide. A legend’s exit to be with God.
On the good days we laughed and loved and on the bad days we laughed and loved
As a child one of my best memories was standing on your feet feeling 6ft tall while you whisked me around dancing to the song Delta Dawn each night after supper...
In my 20’s having the opportunity to take you and Mom on many trips to see the world outside of Canada. To see your books, the history you studied come to life in a moment by moment experience. It was like watching a kid at Christmas the joy you had in your heart on these trips. The mantra was always Go-Go-Go!!
My 30’s as you walked me down the aisle proud as ever joking with me all the way down and of course your speech that evening kept the whole room laughing.
The moment you rushed to hospital to gaze at your first grandchild - and your heart was beaming with love
Taking you to many hockey games to see your grandson play and cheer him on with so much pride.
And the current memories are many filled with so much love mixed in the daily routine of your final years. The walks at lake ontario park and picnics, the walks pass the daycare waving at the kids, the short conversations over hockey with the crossing guard, planning fruit trees on the path and stop ins at Ash camp to see grandchildren and great grandchildren. A daily routine in the hood that I still believe to this day they paved a perfect path for us to use.
Go rest my hero - in the arms of Jesus and dance, eat, see and hear all the JOY that awaits you there. Give hugs from us to all our love ones there
I am going to miss you more than I can express in words but I know it was time for me to say - Go-Go-Go - Dad ... you have fought the good fight in faith... rest and be at peace - Love you forever xoxo
