Obituary of David Ross Burke

Burke, David Ross – at Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in his 78^th year, after a lengthy illness. Loving partner and husband of Sandra Kostopoulos-Burke. Proud father of Christine Burke (Ed) of Richmond Hill. David will be fondly remembered by his step-daughter Penny Kostopoulos-Costa (Joe) of Aurora. He will be missed by his extended family and friends. David is predeceased by his parents Kathleen and John Burke.

David was a veteran of the Canadian Army Reserves and spent 35 years at Kingston Penitentiary with Corrections Canada. He was a published author of novels, non-fiction and poetry. He was a natural storyteller and a good man. He will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home Reception and Celebration Centre on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Words will be spoken at 2:00 pm. Please enter through the Reception and Celebration Centre doors at the back of the building. A private family graveside service will follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory to the Kingston Food Bank would be appreciated by her family.
