Obituary of Robert Hall
1954 - 2023
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Robert Hall passed away at the age of 68, on February 3rd in the Kingston General Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents Elwin and Muriel Hall, Robert is survived by his daughter Deborah Hall and grandson Andrew Van Lare of Kingston, his sister Catherine Hall and nephew Alex Bender of Toronto and Shirley Hale, former spouse and forever friend.
For many years Robert worked as a Developmental Service Worker at Ongwanada Resource Centre caring for the special needs of handicapped children with enormous love and compassion. It takes a special kind of person to do such important work.
Rob was most happy when playing his guitar, writing music and singing in St. Joseph’s Church choir. Music was his passion but his devotion to his faith was unwavering. In retirement, Rob pursued his Catholic faith by furthering his religious studies through distance learning at St. Francis Xavier University. He graduated in 2016 with a Diploma in Ministry, an achievement he was most proud of.
Rob had a great sense of humour but will be most remembered for his kindness and compassion for others. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the amazing team of doctors and nurses at the KGH who cared for Robert in his final days with such compassion.
Cremation has taken place through James Reid Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston. Flowers can be sent to the Church the morning of the service or charitable donations can be made to Kingston Home Base at https://kingstonhomebase.ca in support of the homeless.
