On Monday May 18, 2020, Evelyn passed away peacefully at the age of 98, surrounded by the love of her daughter and her grandaughters.

She was the daughter of the late Polly Dennis and Wilson White Kendall. Cherished wife of the late Sydney Mitchell. Loving mother of Lynda Jewell (Robb Barr). Amazing Nana to Aryn Jewell (Noele Murano), and Carli Lefevere (Mark). Her great grandchildren Aiden, Makayla, Ava, and Maverick.

She was predeceased by her siblings Eddie Kendall (Doris), Mary Jackson (John), Lily Stokoe (Arthur and Rex), John (Phyllis), Maggie Swailes (William and Derrick), Eric Kendall. Also her nephew Barry Kendall (and his daughter LeeAnne) and niece June Kendall.

She will always be remembered as Auntie Babs to John (June-deceased), Debbie (Don) Brenda (Greg), Alice (Barry-deceased), Kevin, Bradley, Lorraine, Matthew, and Rachel. Also remembered as Auntie Evelyn to Carolynn (Bruce), Ann (Doug-deceased), Barbara (Andrew), Rex (Kate), Derek (Jeanne), and Michael (Linda).

Evelyn was blessed to have had many beautiful friendships over the years spent in Reddendale, the neighbourhood that she lived in and loved. Our family would like to thank all of her friends who were always there to lend a helping hand if she needed it, or just to enjoy her company over a cup of tea and a scrabble game.  Marg, Peter, Ann, Joann, Franz, Jan, Gladys, Linda, Ruth, Parette, and the late Edna Jennings. We are forever grateful for how you all touched her life. There are many others who will remember Evelyn fondly, you know who you are.

Her long time neighbours Peter, Claire, Dave, and Monica always had her lovely award winning gardens to look at through their back windows.

Evelyn was known by many at the Neighborhood Sharing Center in Reddendale where she volunteered for 34 years along with her good friends Dolly, Ruth, and many others .

Evelyn was a very talented woman who had a passion for gardening, painting, bird carving, and just about anything else she put her mind to. She was such a beautiful soul who will be missed by many, but her memory will always live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

As an expression of sympathy donations can be made in her name to the Kingston Humane Society. Evelyn loved animals, especially dogs. Her heart dog was Tess who she walked daily in the Jorene Drive area in Reddendale. She always had dog treats in her pocket to pass out to neighbourhood dogs, and they all knew it.

We would like to thank the staff at Conservatory Pond, and Arbor Heights for the excellent care she received in the last years of her life.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
